Love

For the Operation Write Home Sketch Challenge 247 and Shopping our Stash 186-Love

I love this paper pad and I love this stamp. I love Brown and I especially love Orange. Tried a few different things here that I haven't tried. Used a Spellbinders scalloped frame die, edge only, to cut the scallops on the left of the striped rectangle then I wrapped the card with 3 layers of the ribbon.  I have to figure out how to do that better so there isn't any space, or else I need to get some thicker ribbon!  Then it needed something else, and the bling was exactly the right colors, so on it went.

Kinda busy.... but all of the paper was in the same pad, so stripes and argyle must go together, right?

Cork, Corrugated, and Woven hearts

For the Shopping Our Stash #185: Not Your Normal Paper  and The Paper Girls Challenge #72 - Cork

Can't believe it, this one won a "Top 3" honor at Shopping our Stash.  Whoopppeeee!!!!

Trying something new with "paper" other than cardstock.  Found a heart punch in my drawer of punches that my friend Bobbi gave me and decided to see if it would cut through the cork, corrugated, and woven papers. It worked out just fine.  Since all of the cards I have been making are for Operation Write Home, I decided a Miss You sentiment would fit.

Words

I found this piece of paper in a stack of assorted paper that my friend Bobbi gave me.  Being that I am a Words with Friends junkie, I just had to use it.  This is the finished product.  The stamp sentiment fits this paper perfectly, doesn't it?  I hope there is another piece of paper just like this left in the stack!

Snowy Wednesday's cards

What to do on a snowy, snowy Wednesday in January in Michigan?  Shovel Snow...done, make soup...done, make chocolate chip/banana muffins...done, laundry....done,  time to make cards!  Pictures are not the best.  There is not a bit of light here today.

Was going for a simple masculine missing you card for Operation Write Home and came up with this.  I had this great paper with arrows all over it, but by the time I got done cutting it down, you can barely see it!  I think the arrow embossing folder and the arrow paper were competing with each other.

Pastel Miss you cards

Way outside my comfort zone.  Dry embossing, die cutting, stamps, ribbon, using some of the tiny little die cut pieces, and a bit of hand drawing.  Did you know that the sharp end of a wooden cuticle stick works just fine to draw a line?  That's a lot of different techniques for me to use for one little card.

My friend, and partner in crime (cardmaking!) Bobbi,  picked up this Spellbinders Pendants-Tulips Die for me somewhere for $4 or $5.  A bargain, right?  Was not sure what to do with it, so I cut some pieces, then searched around on the web, got a few ideas, and this is what I came up with.

Then I had to try it some more because I had this cool tulip embossing folder

A little pastel for my taste, but I wanted to try to use these dies and I want it to be spring!
